Thank you to the clubs who have so warmly welcomed me during the start of my Governor visits. If you didn’t already know this, the food must be one reason for great attendance at meetings. As I have mentioned during my visits, fired chicken seems to be the highlight on many menus and I am very tempted to ask clubs to bring samples to the District Conference next April to settle the question of which club truly has the BEST!

Club events have begun and I will continue to include information on exciting things to do around the District with your help. Please remember to email the details to me at WeDigRotary@gmail.com. And, please send photos of the events. Let’s IMAGINE using this site to attract, retain and engage members as we celebrate the great works and services our clubs provide to their communities and beyond.

The Rotary Club of Summit submitted a short story about their club and basketball gym. Please take a few minutes to learn how one club continues to serve their community. If you want your club featured, please send me an email.

Thanks to Mike Sigler for helping to make RYLA so very successful this past summer. Enjoy reading about the accomplishments of the students.

Just in case you are looking for fun events this month, please check out a few ideas for September:

Rotary Membership Minute: a final thought.
A vibrant club is not just one that’s managed well. It’s one whose members are cared for and who have a voice in shaping the club’s culture.

How is your club fostering an environment where all members and visitors feel welcome, feel that they belong, and feel comfortable being themselves? Asking individual members for their ideas and opinions can help your club make sure it’s offering what members need. Having genuine friendships and connections with others in your club evokes a sense of gratitude and the desire to give back, not just to the community, but to the club and to other members.

See you at the Alligator Festival!!!!!
