You Ought to Do a Story About Me – Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Ted Jackson shares powerful stories of resilience, human connection, and the journey of his friendship with a former NFL player whose life changed in ways that could not have been predicted.
Ted Jackson is a photojournalist and author who spent four decades documenting the human condition, mostly while working with The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune.

In 1997, he was part of a four-member team that won a Pulitzer Prize for public service for Oceans of Trouble, a comprehensive look at the impending collapse of the world’s fisheries. In 2005, he photographed Hurricane Katrina, for which The Times-Picayune staff won a Pulitzer for public service. His work has appeared in publications around the world including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and National Geographic. He has appeared on the CBS Morning Show, ABC, CNN, Fox News, and NBC, NPR and BBC.

In 2020, he published his book, YOU OUGHT TO DO A STORY ABOUT ME, an unlikely tale of his 30-year friendship with Jackie Wallace, a homeless crack addict who in 1990 randomly boasted about playing in three Super Bowls.

Jackson lives with his wife, Nancy in Covington, Louisiana.
