The Literacy Legacy
July 2025
1st Edition
Meet your new District Governor,
Keith Clayton!
Dear Fellow Rotarians,

I’m honored to have been selected as your District Governor for the 2025-26 Rotary year. The lead-up to this year has introduced me to many Rotarians I never would have met. This afforded me the opportunity to work with many of you for the first time. This experience alone makes the time and effort worthwhile.

At PETS, I offered to help with a service project instead of speaking at a regular meeting. Some of you accepted my offer, and I look forward to working with your clubs. For those who did not accept the offer, in addition to speaking at a meeting I would still like to assist with a service project. Please let me know about upcoming projects and I’ll make every effort to attend if invited.

My Area of Focus will be Basic Education and Literacy. This is an area that provides an opportunity to transform lives both locally and internationally. While many clubs are already contributing to schools and students, I believe we can do more. Thus my club visits will focus on Basic Education and Literacy. My aim is to find ways to work with students individually—to teach them skills rather than providing temporary assistance.

I look forward to meeting each one of you during this upcoming year. Remember, I see my main role as being your biggest cheerleader. I want you to be the best you can be. Also, I want us to be the best District within the Zone, giving RI Director Brian Hall something to brag about.

🎉 July is Rotary's New Leadership Month!

Each July marks the beginning of a new Rotary year — a time of fresh starts, new goals, and inspired leadership. Clubs and districts across the globe welcome their incoming presidents, officers, and board members, setting the tone for a year of service, connection, and impact.

This is the perfect time to:

  • Celebrate outgoing leaders for their dedication and accomplishments

  • Introduce new leaders to your members and community

  • Share your goals for the year ahead

  • Get involved in club planning and visioning sessions

Let’s kick off the Rotary year strong and support our new leaders as they guide us into another impactful year of Service Above Self!
