🌍 World Polio Day is Almost Here – Thursday, October 24! 🌍
This week, Rotarians around the globe are celebrating the incredible progress we’ve made in the fight to end polio—and recommitting to finishing the job once and for all!
One of the highlights of the week is PDG Ace Necaise’s “Miles for Polio” 100-mile bike ride, taking place in recognition of World Polio Day. In honor of Ace’s inspiring effort, DG Keith Clayton has issued a special challenge:
💪 Donate $1.00 per mile completed during Ace’s ride—that’s up to $100 per person—to support PolioPlus and help Rotary End Polio Now!
Here’s how you can donate:
1️⃣ Go to rotary.org
2️⃣ Click Our Causes → Ending Polio
3️⃣ On the right side, click Donate
4️⃣ Scroll down and select PolioPlus Fund
5️⃣ Choose your donation amount (one-time or recurring)
6️⃣ Sign in to MyRotary or continue as a guest to complete your donation
We also encourage every club to host an event or acknowledgement this week to raise awareness and support Rotary’s ongoing efforts.
Let’s come together to show our commitment, cheer Ace on, and help make polio history—because together, we can End Polio Now! 🚴♂️🌍
🌀 Mid-City Rotary Walks for Mental Health! 🌀
A group of our Mid-City Rotarians recently joined the NAMI New Orleans “NAMIWalks Southeast Louisiana Southshore” at Audubon Park — and we’re proud to share that together, we raised $1,137 in support of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)! 💙
Even better, we had an incredible time walking, connecting, and showing our support for mental health awareness in our community. 🌿 It was a great day of fun, fellowship, and purpose — a perfect example of Rotary in action! 💪✨

ROTARY CLUB OF AMITE Mammography Machine Project for Hood Memorial Hospital
The Rotary Club of Amite is leading a project to purchase a state-of-the-art 3D Mammography System for Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite, LA. Unlike the current mobile unit (125 mammograms per year), this new system will allow over 4,300 screenings annually, helping save lives through early detection.
The total cost is $400,000, and pledges are already coming in from Rotarians worldwide, including $25,000 from District 6110 and at least $40,000 from our own district. To meet the October 30, 2025 deadline, we need your help!
👉 Join us in making this life-saving project a reality.
